I was very pleased to find this sitecruise excursions
ReplyDeleteWe were in Puerto Madryn for the day on the Carnival Splendor in March 2013. I organized a tour with 15 others cruise critic members to visit Punta Tombo with Sentir Patagonia Travel. At first, I was a little leery of the long drive to this protected area but it turned out to be a wonderful day. Our guide was terrific and shared a lot of information, including the Argentinian custom of drinking 'mate'. The drive gave us an opportunity to learn from our guide as well as see the vegetation, which is quite scrubby except for the area around the Chubut River. Because Punta is a very popular tourist destination, we made sure we were one of the 1st off the ship. This worked out well because we arrived at Punta Tombo way before all the crowds! Not only did we walk amongst tons of Magellanic Penguins, some crossing the path (they have the right of way) but we also saw guanacos, rheas, Mara (Patagonian hare), quis (a rat like animal) and more! I would definitely recommend Sentir and this tour!
